This week: Glaceau's trendy Vitamin Water

Ah yes. You've seen versions of this 20 oz bottle creep up in various facets of the city. Slowly making its space in the chill racks of the nearby Wallgreens, grasped in the left hand of that in-a-rush office worker of the financial district, and the visible side backpack pocket of that speedy Mission messenger on that fixed gear, these technicolor vessels of vitamin goodness have made their way into our lives.

Why the drink? They have nearly a dozen colored treats with memorable names and quirky descriptions as you look for the makeshift "Nutrition Facts" while you know its just watered-down Gatorade. You figure they're going for a clever crowd. I used to make fun of designers with their Timbuk2 satchels, tight jeans and decorative "vitamin water." But my ignorance led me to find out during a bout of post-basketball thirst, hey, this isn't that bad. And wanting to know the secrets of this sugar based drink, that 3rd grader in all of us powered-up yet again, I momentarily became that kid wanting to taste each flavor and know what were the coolest ones. Like the Squeeze-It drink, the mean red boxer dude who would beat up all the other Squeeze-Its in the commercials. Actually that flavor wasn't that good, but anyways.

And they even have 50 cent's own signature formula 50. Think Purple Otter Pop in a silver bullet shaped bottle. Some may argue its gluely slimy Dimetapp, but hey, I dig it.

Sorry Sobe and Powerade, you guys are on the bench waiting for the rotation. V-Water is starting for now. Although word has it Dan/"Beef" abhors this Vitamin water. Lets see if he fires a rebuttal to proclaim "x" drink as his latest fix. (I say it's one of 7hm's favorite workout drinks: Pap's Blue Ribbon)
